All-in-all experience 2/10
This club is owned by the same people that own Skin and Bones in Scottsdale, Dream Palace in Tempe, and Dirty's in Phoenix. I have never been to any of those other clubs but I still thought that information was of note.
This club seems like it may have decent money coming in, but it is ran in a very strange, almost predatory nature.
I worked a Tuesday night from 9 PM to 3 AM. This is a nude club so there is no alcohol served. Clubs hours seem to be 8 PM To 4 AM during the week and 6 PM to 5 AM on Friday and Saturday.
There were 5 other dancers, 1 whom has been dancing for 22+ years and the other 4 being baby dancers. 1 girl had only been working for 1 month, another 3. I am also fairly certain that the remaining 2 have been dancing for 8 monthsish at most. The manager was 20 years old and most of the other staff also appeared to be under the age of 21. This lack of experience in the staff was obvious from the moment I walked in, and I am certain that they are taking advantage of the younger dancers' naiveté.
There are no floor dances at this club, only VIP. Dance prices are $30 single song with $10 going to the house and dancers were also permitted to sell 20 minute dances at whatever price they wanted with $60 going to the house. Most girls seemed to charge around $200 - $300 for the 20 minute dances. Asking for tips on top of these prices is strictly prohibited and I was told I would be fired for doing so. The club also takes 30% of what you made at at the end of the night (after the other fees have been paid).
This club treats its dancers like employees. They expect you to work the entire shift while you're there, as well as be scheduled for a minimum of 2 week day shifts per week. If you do the scheduling then you can work Friday and Saturday with no house fee. Otherwise, the house fee is $40 on the weekends. I was told that normally they only have 3/4 girls working on weekdays and 10 on the weekends. They said that they keep this low number on purpose to make sure that the girls there are making money, but honestly I am skeptical of that being the true reason. You are also not allowed to be in the locker room or outside on a smoke break for longer than 5 minutes at a time. This is heavily enforced and the manager will physically come in or out to make sure the girls are not taking longer breaks than this.
At this point I will have been dancing for 10 years as of next month. Even though I had stated this, the 20 year old manager was extremely condescending and talked to me as if I had never worked in the industry before. He was an extreme mansplainer and it took much patience to just listen and let him ramble. He also informed me that he has only been in the industry for 1 year and that all of the time was spent at that same club. He really didn't give me that much information and I had to keep hunting him down whenever I had questions because he was constantly goofing around with the other staff. I kept being pushed by both him and the DJ to go make nice and spend time with the 1 dancer that had danced longer than me. They kept telling me that she had a lot of knowledge to share and that I had to sit with her and listen. I'm sure that the woman knows what she is doing and is good at her job, but I did not like how they kept belittling my own experience and kept trying to get me to hang out with her. Honestly it was super annoying. They also expect dancers to be the cocktail waitresses. They make the girls ask customers if they need any beverages and to get them for them as well as bring change. To be honest I think that they do this because they are either too lazy or cheap to hire dedicated waitresses but regardless I hate doing jobs that I am not being paid to do so I did not partake in this. I did not refuse to the manager's face but I simply ignored his requests when he asked me to go ask customers for drinks. There is also no stage rotation and it seems that there is an expectation for there to be a girl on stage all times and for us to just do it when told to. Since there was no rotation, some were asked to do it a lot more often than others. It was very strange.
The actual club vibe is pretty good. It's very small, you walk in directly to the middle of the building where the juice bar is. They sell sodas, slushees, red bull, and non-alcholic beer for the hardcore people. Directly to the left is the VIP dance area which is completely open and full of couches. There are no private rooms at this club and the dance booths can be easily seen from the bar. To the right of the bar is the stage and general seating area. The stage is tiny with a pretty high rail and a very slippery metal floor. The club music is primarily rap, rnb, trap, & reggaeton. Rock music is allowed but largely discouraged. The locker room is behind the stage and it is actually extremely nice! It is clean, has nice large lockers, and a very large, clean mini fridge.
Now for the last part, I will explain their batsh*t lap dance rules. It is pretty standard in Arizona that you don't make much contact with patrons while on stage, so that was expected and fine. Unfortunately, this club also seems to expect VIP dances to be done in a similar manner. You are not allowed to sit on customers, grind on customers, put your boobs in customers faces, or let customers touch you in any way other than on your hips. They basically want you doing air dances. That being said, this is not an extras club and just be forwarned that they are extremely strict here. Full nudity is also greatly discouraged even though it's a nude club. They told me that I could get nude in dances and on stage but that they did not want us doing it because you should "leave something to the imagination" and "they won't come back if they've already seen it." I know this has always been a debate on whether girls make more money or not if they do get fully nude but I have always personally thought that I made more money when I did get nude on stage and in dances. This is completely different attitude from any other nude club I have ever worked at. It is nice that you have the option though and that they don't force you in to getting or not getting nude. I did manage to sell some dances with these rules but I felt stupid the whole time I was doing them and it's pretty obvious that the only customers that buy them are 18/19/20 year olds that can't go to many other clubs yet. There were many older blue collar customers that came in too but they all just tipped stage and didn't get any dances.
I left early even though I was not "supposed to" and I will not be back. If any one has better suggestions for a nude club to work at in the valley please let me know.
